Selecting
a perfectly sized container for your gift is crucial for achieving
wrapping perfection. Even if your gift comes
in an easily wrappable format (like a
book or DVD), a recipient always appreciates your extra effort
in selecting a gift
box or bag - and you can add an element of surprise. The extra layer will protect against sticky tape
residue, and provide you with some extra space for colorful tissue.
Make sure the
container isn't so big that it dwarfs the gift and requires too much filler. This is particularly important
if you are shipping. Similarly, too tight of a squeeze can make
your finished product look haphazard and (gasp!) re-gifted. |

When it comes
to patterns and trimmings, proportion is everything! For a large
box, you can choose a paper with a bold design, but if you're wrapping
small, showcasing a petite print will work wonders. The same
idea applies to ribbon
width and bow size: you want your elements to compliment each
other, not compete for space. The best-looking gifts
aren't necessarily the ones with the biggest bows, but rather
the ones that result from the right amount of planning and
balance. |
