At Olive Paper, we're committed to providing you with the best environmentally responsible wrapping solutions. But we know that you're doing some creative wrapping out there and we'd love to hear about it!
Have you taken some of our products and combined them with a recycled item you had on hand? Have you ever tied the last knot and thought, “now that’s the perfect box?”
If you've got a creative, eco-friendly success story, e-mail a picture and description to green@olivepaper.com. Be sure to describe the item you used from Olive Paper, tell us what other items you used, and share the tale of how you arrived at such genius! Don’t forget to tell us why your idea is green and include your name so we can credit you for you work — and so that you’re eligible for a $50 gift certificate if your ensemble or idea is chosen to be featured on our this page.
Interested but not sure where to start? We've got a few ideas for you:

Scouring your home or workplace for items that can be used as gift wrap can be fun and challenging. Most people have a stash of unused, leftover napkins from takeout or delivery dinners lying around somewhere. Sure it's a little unorthodox, but we decided to see if we could successfully wrap a box using paper napkins so they didn't end up in the trash. With a little patience, a lot of double stick tape, and some items from our store to, we think it came out pretty well.
We used:
Takeout napkins, scissors, double stick tape
Alecia Paper (60% recycled, 60% post consumer content)
Bella Terra Ribbon (managed forest paper, non-toxic dye) |

Sometimes it's fun to put together themed gift baskets, which are perfect for housewarming or shower occasions. If your idea includes some sort of container, say a tea mug for example, you might not need any gift wrap at all. We picked a pretty mug, wrapped some nice tea and accessories in tissue, tied on a few ribbons, and voila! Instant presentation.
We used:
Tea mug, tea accessories, scissors for curling
Sasha Tissue (100% recycled)
Cotton Curling Ribbons (100% biodegradeable, soy inks) |

Maybe you save recipes and tips out of magazines to use later, but what to do with all those ads and colorful pictures? Before lugging those stacks of paper to the recycling bin, tear out and store pages with interesting imagery. Using fashion photos can be particularly appropriate if your gift contains clothing, jewelry, or perfume. Make a creative collage finished with a bow, and your reused mags are transformed into a posh package.
We used:
Magazine pages, scissors, double stick tape
